Comfortable, reliable long lasting
"These are very comfortable, provide great protection, are cut well for movement and last me a long time. (I give them a quick hand wash and then hang them dry) I don't know what some are referring to when they say they are a little abrasive. Maybe it depends on the color or pattern? I wear several of the solid colors and find them to be extremely comfortable against my skin."
Days gone by. . .
"I spend a lot of time on the San Juan, its hot during the summer! These solarflex hoodies are comfortable in the heat, that said, I prefer the material of the previous version, it had a softer, more supple feel to it and worked well in the heat. If Simms went back to the previous material I'd wear it. If not I'll wear the new version as Ive purchased 6 hoodies and 6 long sleeve crew all in the new material. Additionally, I find the size has changed slightly the new sleeves are not quite as long as the last version and the solarflex shirts with patterns are even shorter in the sleeves, to the point of having to return XLs for XXLs, I've been wearing Simms products for 30+ years and have never worn their XXL in any shirts or jackets always XL."

"great shirt. Good UV and bug protection and its a little tighter in the cuff than normal shirts like it which is nice cause it wont get in the way of casting or line. Big fan."

"This version fit is not like the previous, it is more tight fitted smaller and the material used feels a little bit tough and scratchy to the touch. A big let down from the previous older versions, would not recommend this version."

"Hate writing this bc I love my previous solar flex hoodies. This new material is rough/ abrasive. The fit is weird , short torso, short on the sleeves. Little to no stretch . . feels like woven plastic. Bummer loved the color and design. Couldn’t imagine wearing this on a hot day. . might be down right abrasive"
Runs Small. Thicker Material than Ideal.
"Simms has changed the material on the SolarFlex. The new material is thicker and bit itchy vs the past lightweight performance feel. The new version also runs small - so size up accordingly. I am usually a medium, but should have bought a large. I will be returning it though. I miss the old version!"
