Not great durability or function

"The main purpose these serve for me is that they are just big enough to go over my wader’s socks. My tennis shoes actually work better functionally. I can’t imagine hiking in these, they are clunky and heavy have very poor grip, I just carry them with me when I need to hike in. They could drain better for sure, but also the material itself retains a ton of moisture in all the bits with cushion. The laces de sheathed after the first few times I used them as well. Ultimately I’m just left wondering what these are for since they are worse for hiking and wading than any old shoe I have."

"I'm a guide, I bought a size run of these for clients. I added studs (6 per boot) and clients have had no traction issues. I like that they are light weight and dry very quickly."

Dangerous boot

"Please be weary of these boots. I've worn these in 4 different rivers and they are like ice in all of them. These boots are NOT wading boots and will get you into a very dangerous situation if you decided to wade into the river with them. They are so slippery that even standing in Ankle deep water I would slip and fall while setting the hook when fishing. When not wading these boots are still slippery on rocks on shore if it has been raining. I have been wading rivers for the last 20 years and have never fell once. Last time I wore these (brand new) I fell multiple times in one day. BUYER BEWARE!"

Dangerous to use without studs

"These are potentially a great boot. The build quality is great. I used them a couple of days hiking into Bear Trap Canyon and they are quite comfortable offering great support on the trail. The problem comes when you get in the water. Madison River rocks aren’t really slick by my standards. I used a pair of a competitor boots for the 5 days before I got these and had no issues with slipping. The compound that Simms used in the rubber is clearly not acceptable for wading. Unless you plan to use studs, stay well clear of these unfortunately."
