"I like the more flexible material. The water proof zipper opens fairly easy. Stands up the others didn't. I did compare other brands and all had their pros and cons. I did end up buying this. The biggest con of the Simms is there is 0 padding in the shoulder straps. Which was one the positives of the Orvis, which had excellent straps. I have a pair of backpack strap pads ordered."
"It's an incredible backpack. I've been using it in saltwater and freshwater in very wet conditions, and it works very well. No leaks, the water stays out, and my fishing gear stays dry. The exterior pocket works very well because of the zipper placement and the protection to keep water out. I recommend this bag; I'm very happy."

"I had the original version of this pack, which I thought was perfect and used almost weekly for over 10 years until it lost it's waterproofing. So I ordered the new version which turns out to be much too large for most actual fishing situations. You wouldn't want it on your back while casting in a river or on a beach. And it would be too bulky to stuff into a drift boat or other small watercraft. I think it was designed to haul as much gear and clothing as you possibly could use to a destination, then take it off and leave it somewhere while you fish. Having said all that, it is clearly well-made and certainly appears to be submersible, but I returned it."

Everything in the drift boat got wet - but nothing inside this bag! Paid me back on my first trip with it!"
