"Was a little too bulky, Did not sit as on the shoulder as other Simms products I have owned. Construction and pockets Zippers were well built. Sent it back in for a less bulky item."

"Versatility at its finest! Super functional once you get it set up the way you want it. Large enough to pack for a day on the water!"

"I bought this because I loved the features on my Simms Freestone sling pack, minus the fact it was right shoulder only, and for a right handed caster and frequent nymph slinger, a left sided sling pack is better in my opinion. The ambidextrous feature of this is the highlight. The positives: the fly dock that folds out with the large foam fly patch, the overall space and compartments, the water resistant material, and the left to right interchangeability. The negatives: Net storage, the Freestone had it perfected and it's the worst part of the Headwaters. The very loose strap on the bottom lets the net spin and twists the whole pack downward when on your back, making it unusable to me for a net. And without any compression straps, you really cant use that strap for anything else. I also miss the velcro on the outside of the fly station that came with a clever tippet holder on the Freestone, and lastly the lack of a water bottle holder with a cinch strap. Also, the genius magnetic forceps holder on the front of the chest strap is absent. If you can figure out a place for your net, this pack is a winner. Had they kept the smartest features of the Freestone it would be 5 stars. Not sure why they chose to remove the best features on such a high end pack."

"Tried out my new sling pack today and I must say, I’m very pleased, just the fact that it’s ambidextrous really makes a difference, was able to stow all my gear and still have some room ,will be moving things around to see what works best. I think it could use some loops or d-rings to hang a few things, but so far this thing is great."
