All of our performance cotton clothing utilizing COR3™ also feature COR3™ EZ. The "EZ" means easy care and indicates that garments featuring this treatment will travel well and resist wrinkles.
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. Longer pleaseLove these pants but had to return them due to the size being to short, 6'4" 203lbs, If simms would carry tall sizes in pants and long sleeve shirts that would be amazing and I would have a lot more simms gear.
Missing Some DetailsI've been wearing what I believe are 7-8 year old Simms Guide pants with the same type of fleece lining. Absolutely love them. Purchased the new version Coldweather pants and there are some things that I miss that made the old pants so much better. Old pants had cargo pocket with velcro flap on left side and the two rear pockets zipped close. Additionally the front closure had 2 snap closure while the new version has a button.
All in all, the pants are ok, but I would have rather paid more and had the added detailing then see the changes made to keep the price the same.
I think your design team dropped the ball on this one.
These pants are amazing! To me they feel like a pant that looks nice but feels like your sweat pants! They keep you warm and fit great. The elastic in the waste band is also wonderful. Id own several of there for sure. great cold weather pant.
Not as good as the prior versionPurchased these a year ago because I loved the 2 pairs I already had, but they were getting a bit worn and a third pair was needed in the rotation. Wasn't thrilled with the elastic waste, just not as good a fit and feel as the non-elastic waste in my older pair. In the old version, the fleece lining stayed put within the pants and didn't bunch up around the ankles. In the new version, the fleece bunches up around the ankles and actually hangs out below the outer fabric. This makes it very bulky when cinched down under waders and they feel like I'm wearing bell bottoms when walking around. The old pair were just so slim and trim and this was never an issue - I didn't feel like I was walking around in insulated pants - now I do. Both versions are just as warm. I also miss the zippered pocket on the back of the old version. They provided security for my wallet. The new ones don't, so I'm not as comfortable wearing them in hip boots or out hiking.
I would have given the old version 100 stars, which is why I bought a third pair, but the new version has been "improved" in bad ways.
Simms Customer Service: Robert, we appreciate your feedback. This is the type of feedback we need in order to help improve our products and or help us understand the older version worked just great. We will let our product design team know. Thank you.
great under wader pant for water fowlingI fish in these in cold weather or super cold tailwaters but have REALLY loved them in my cold weather water fowling. Hunted with these pants for two years at temps down below zero with a good set of long johns and waders, Just a perfect combination of weight and insulation where you are active and then have periods of inactivity in the coldest days. I also wear then causally "around town" in cold weather, and enjoy the weight and heat comfort. My only fitting complaint is that the XL size pants are cut a bit short between crotch and belt and ride down in the back so it is hard to keep my shirttail in; a slight issue that is overcome by my satisfaction other wise.
Simms ColdWeather PantsI'm 6'2" 299. I have a 44" waist. There are a bunch of people out there with 44" waists that would buy these if you began making them in XXXL.
Simms Customer Service: Bubba, we appreciate your feedback and will relay your sizing advice to our designers. Thank you.
AmazingThese pants are the best hands down! My go to under wader pants for steelhead fishing.
Warm!Great pants. Great fit. Very warm. Look great around town after the day on the water is over. I wish more colors were offered.
Great fishing and chore pants! These are by far the best fall winter pants I've found. Perfect amount of insulation and outer fabric is light, but is holding up really well. Wear these under waders or rain pants. Alone they breath, but knock down the wind and look great. Would like another pair in brown.
Excellent pant4 way stretch, they will be perfect then!
Waiting for green to come back tan gets hard to cleanExcellent pants good to 5 degrees with long underwear good to 10 below well made (but darker color.
Awesome FitI'm 5'11" and 200 pounds, found that the size Large was the perfect fit. Like most Simms products these pants are well made, and in my opinion, are improved upon last years Coldweather pant. I love when I buy something from Simms, meant solely for fishing, but then find I can use it for everyday wear.
The only thing that needs to be changed, is the amount of velcro. I use these pants under my waders in chilly weather, so the cuff needs to be nice and tight around my ankle. If the velcro was 2" longer around the cuff you could get an ankle tight fit, so that they stay in place while putting on waders. As is, they don't slide up too much, so they are still great pants!
The Ultimate Winter Pants!I wear these pants during the cold months in Calgary, they are amazing! Perfect for dog walking, shovelling snow and an ice fishing base layer. FYI-there are only 3 months that are warm months here....these pants get a lot of use, I wish I had another pair.
ShortiesLegs are really short for someone that is tall. Why so short - If the waist is covering 35/6 ~ 37/8 why are legs only 32"? They do not even cover the tops of my 6" high boots, unless I was to wear them like a plumber!
Feel like they would be super warm thou!!!
Less than perfectPant is well made and looks great but it's not designed for someone with big legs and butt. I'm 5' 11" 195 and it was extremely restrictive. If the outer shell was made of 4 way stretch, I might have been able to get by with it. I returned them.
[Response from Simms Customer Care Team] - Good suggestion Scott. We'll pass that on to the product team.
