General Wader Care
SIMMS waders are all built from a durable breathable fabric. Whether that is GORE-TEX® or Toray®, the care that should be taken is the same.
Waders should be dried after each use, both inside and out. Simms understands that certain situations do not allow for time to fully dry between uses. It is the expectation that this circumstance will contribute to a potential shorter lifespan.
Breathable fabrics are porous in nature and can collect dirt, oils from the skin and other environmental substances. Regular cleaning of waders is a key contributor to their lifespan.
Depending on the number of days used, annual, bi-annual or tri-annual washing is recommended.
Exposure to salt water or salt air requires special care: The waders must be rinsed thoroughly with fresh water and dried after each use.
Do not store inside your car for long periods of time. Excess heat will damage your waders.
Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks. SIMMS makes the perfect companion for your waders, the SIMMS Taco wader storage bag and changing mat. The Taco Bag zips completely open to provide an ideal changing surface. When you're done fishing, you can store your damp waders in a ventilated bag such as a Simms Taco Bag.
When you get home, you can hang your waders to dry thoroughly.
Regular washing helps maintain the waterproof, breathability of your waders. Wader fabrics are actually micro porous, allowing body moisture to move outwards while preventing water from coming in.

"The boot ankles were so tight, it would take 2 minutes just to take them off around my ankles."

"These are nearly identical to my Simms G4Z waders from 7 years ago, the bottom half. The best waders I’ve owned. If yer 250 cfs nothing more, they are perfect."
— Rob W. (5/5)
"Comfortable, well made. Happy with the product."

"All I expected at a great pice"

"Wow! Really impressed, reminds me of why I started purchasing Simms waders. Amazing quality and a great price! Used them on the Farmington River and they performed very well. Even trudging through the snow and brush, they kept me dry and comfortable."
— Dave H. (5/5)
"Works and fits great. Like the fact that they are made from materials that would have been thrown away. My other Simms waders lasted lasted 8 years before getting punctured by a thorn, I patched them and have been using them for over a year now. I fish over a hundred days a year."
— Jon K. (5/5)
"Quality product, have fished them every day since received, durable, great fit, no zippers a plus for saltwater!"
— John F. (5/5)
"I ordered these and they got lost by FedEx. About a week or so later Simms sent me another pair after the were sure they were lost. Great customer service I tell you. These waders are great. A bit lighter than the G3s I have. They fit great. No frills and built very well. I recommend these to anyone. Can’t wait to fish them."
— Kurt S. (5/5)
"These waders are sweet!! I feel like I can walk through anything in Texas to get to my fishing hole. The waist and up is very thin and feels like it might not be as durable but does breath very well. For the price of getting half a pair of guide waders not bad! The belt seems very silly with one belt loop. Barely any storage but hey they were the value waders! They will work for my everyday fishing off from the Fire department."
— Peggy S. (4/5)
"I liked the idea having some recycled G3/G4 material from the older more durable models Simms made, combined with some lighter fabric in the upper part. A friend of mine bought a pair for me since I live in Germany. I owned pretty much all Gore Tex and even the old neoprene waders from Simms but the newest generation is no good value for the money anymore. Still got two pairs of older G3 and G4 which I really like, but the new stuff including these pair of waders are just poorly designed and bad quality. On the actual Guide model. The cheap neoprene foot lasted 2 weeks until it was thin like paper and finally leaked and the same happened on this pair of waders. 4 weeks of Salmonfishing in Norway and the waders were garbage. Neoprene feet almost as thin that you can see trough. Ten holes in the upper extremely thin part and a leaking seam where the old good material comes together with the very thin upper material. I thought it would be a weak spot and no surprise it was. Not to mention that if you don't pull the waders really tight you get some goofy edge at the seam due to big difference in the thickness and structure of the material. If you owned old Guide, G3's and G4's and compare it with the new Guide, G4 or these waders you will never return to Simms. The fit, the material and the price tag don't fit together. If you would have used a more dense Neoprene and a slightly better and more durable material in the upper part, letting it cost a few bucks more, it could have been a nice wader. Sad"
