We are looking to fill several Production Specialists roles. We have several roles and will train the right candidates to be members of our Wader Maker Team. An eye for detail, focus on excellence and a positive team member are the characteristics we’re looking for.

The mission of the Wader Production Team is to produce high quality waders. Roles may learn the production processes in the Pressing, Sewing/Taping, Attachment/Boot Building and/or Testing and Packaging area.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Embraces the concepts of cross training and lean manufacturing;
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors regarding issues that affect the production of waders;
  • Consistently maintains the highest level of quality; and maintains a safe, clean, organized work area.

Successful candidates should possess:

We offer a few shifts to choose from:

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 3:30 pm; Friday, 6:00 am – 10:00 am OR
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Monday – Friday Evenings: Noon – 8:30 pm
  • Saturday between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm

 

How we reward our team:

  • Our Wader Maker Team earns a competitive base wage, between $16.00 - $19.50 per hour
  • During the first 90 days, we add $1.50/hour as a training bonus
  • After 90 days, wader makers are placed in the Production Bonus pool. Bonuses are paid out monthly based on achieving weekly wader goals. This generally adds and additional $2.25 - $3.00 per hour to the base wage

Director of Wholesale, North America

 

Simms Fishing is a leader in the fishing industry, and we are looking for a dynamic Director of Wholesale, North America to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through engagement with specialty retail, national accounts, the sales management team, and independent sales representatives. You will be responsible for maximizing the revenue performance by leading the team to achieve annual sales plans across all North America wholesale accounts. These customers include specialty retail in fly, conventional, lodge and outdoor accounts, national accounts, liquidators, and corporate accounts.

 

 

As a leader within the sales team, you will lead the account management and sales strategy for existing and new accounts, making strategic choices that are consistent with the Simms brand and long-range distribution plan objectives. In addition, you will provide input on the development of Simms’ distribution strategy and be responsible for execution of the distribution plan at retail, including expansion into new sales channels. The director will ensure effective sell-in for both existing and new products.

 

 

As a Director of Wholesale, North America you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be a purposeful sales driver that will provide strong leadership to the sales team and wholesale accounts.
  • Represent customer POV internally at Simms but will be tireless advocate for Simms externally.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the marketplace, and the competitive field in which Simms competes.
  • Evaluate geographic regions, determine greatest opportunities for growth, and implement strategies to achieve.
  • Engage sales management team, sales representatives, and retailers.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor a world-class sales team to support the brand’s seasonal and long-range business objectives.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to ensure the highest levels of account service in the industry.
  • Execute sales meetings based on strategy developed in junction with CRO, CPO and CMO.
  • Create agenda and sell-in story /presentations.
  • Manage and motivate sales force to achieve annual revenue targets.
  • Create annual sales plans by channel, and update forecast regularly. Analyze performance vs. plan, and coordinate with regions and sales reps to achieve results.
  • Ensure Simms product and marketing team that is informed of North American retail trends in sportfishing business and broader outdoor landscape.
    • Product feedback is shared in a timely manner.
    • Support Simms at key retail and/or consumer events.
    • Identify sales growth opportunities and challenges, and lead the sell-in cycle, generally twice annually and address as appropriate.
  • Establish closeout strategies that maximize revenue and margin while reducing cannibalization of in-line business.
  • Identify needs for sales programs and materials, including workbook and trade show booth; merchandising/POS; clinic training materials and specials.
  • Evaluate ROI on sales programs, promotions, and other initiatives while managing the specialty channel gross margin.
  • Serve as a “voice of Simms” at all key accounts. Participate in all line previews and seasonal product reviews. Work with Sales Manager, Key Accounts to develop annual sales plan and appropriate levels of reserve orders to support the plan.
  • Negotiate terms of sale, supported by CRO and CFO.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Leadership skills required to manage independent rep force and lead direct reports (Sales Manager, Specialty and Sales Manager, Key Accounts) and work effectively with Simms peers (Sr. Director of Sales Ops, planning, product, and finance teams).
  • 5+ years of experience as an account manager, preferably for an outdoor apparel or fishing brand.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze account specific needs to develop and implement a strategic plan and to grow business.
  • Strategic selling skills with a command of value-added sales techniques.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
  • A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and negotiating skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Must be highly motivated and results oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with ability to easily adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes.
  • Strong PC skills/aptitude. Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Overnight travel up to 50%.

Part-Time Warehouse Associate

 (20 -30 hours per week)

 

 

The Warehouse Associate works as part of the warehouse team to accurately and efficiently perform functions related to the following areas: Assist with processing returns, supports shipping team with daily shipping responsibilities, stocks and ships sale sample receipts and orders, and manages internal inventory of samples and marketing POP. When necessary, the Warehouse Associate will assist the warehouse team to accurately and efficiently perform functions related to the following areas: receiving, wader transfers orders, cycle counts, warehousing, stock replenishment and will assist to develop, promote, and support continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Lead for processing customer returns
  • Supports day to day shipping responsibilities to deliver products to the customer on time and in a quality manner
  • Supports receiving daily deliveries and proper stocking
  • Measures and records all dimensions and weights for all SMS
  • Communicates changes, delays, problem resolution in an efficient and timely manner
  • During busy times assists with other warehouse tasks or cross-departmental shipping tasks
  • Implements new techniques or process to improve SMS/POP inventory accuracy, efficiency or safety

 

 


Candidates will work during our morning shift (starting between 6:30 am – 9:00am) preferably Monday – Friday.
