Production Specialist - $500 Signing Bonus

At Simms, we make the finest waders in the fishing market, right here in Bozeman!

 

We are looking to fill several Production Specialists roles. We have several roles and will train the right candidates to be members of our Wader Maker Team. An eye for detail, focus on excellence and a positive team member are the characteristics we’re looking for.

The mission of the Wader Production Team is to produce high quality waders. Roles may learn the production processes in the Pressing, Sewing/Taping, Attachment/Boot Building and/or Testing and Packaging area.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Embraces the concepts of cross training and lean manufacturing;
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors regarding issues that affect the production of waders;
  • Consistently maintains the highest level of quality; and maintains a safe, clean, organized work area.
  • Follows all Safety policies and procedures


Successful candidates should possess:

  • 2+ years experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Works effectively with team member


We offer a few shifts to choose from:

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 3:30 pm; Friday, 6:00 am – 10:00 am OR
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Monday – Friday Evenings: Noon – 8:30 pm
  • Saturday between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm

 

How we reward our team:

  • Our Wader Maker Team earns a competitive base wage, between $16.00 - $19.50 per hour
  • During the first 90 days, we add $1.50/hour as a training bonus
  • After 90 days, wader makers are placed in the Production Bonus pool. Bonuses are paid out monthly based on achieving weekly wader goals. This generally adds and additional $2.25 - $3.00 per hour to the base wage

 

Accounting Manager

To maintain accurate and complete accounting records. To ensure that product costing is accurate, and controls/reviews are in place to identify issues in a timely manner. To serve as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budget information and helping them evaluate the financial impact of business decisions. To identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies within the ERP/Acct. environment and to maintain compliance with all financial reporting standards, taxing authorities, and borrowing covenants.


Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including ensuring balance sheet accounts and reserves are recorded and reconciled in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure recurring reports (booked-to-shipped, sales workbooks, shop-in-shop analyses, etc.) are completed and provided to stakeholders in a timely manner to drive effective decision making.
  • Ensure business leaders understand where they are vs. budget and have the information they need to manage to their budget.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance filings are completed within deadlines. Utilize third-party software provider to ensure Simms is compliant with sales tax regulations.
  • Ensure product costing is accurate and provide Sourcing, Operations and Development teams with timely insight into costing variances.
  • Identify and assist in modifying current processes and procedures to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of transacting, recording, and processing transactions.
  • NAV “Power User”. Can be relied upon to be the definitive resource for the efficient use of specific ERP functions and related business processes. Become the expert in information access tools utilized by Simms (NAV, the Sales Cube, etc.) and perform the above efficiently and effectively.

  • Product costing analysis performed timely: R-does not get done, Y-completed 1X per Quarter, G-completed 1X per Month, SG-completed 2X per Month and annual savings of $50k+ identified.
  • Recurring reports (Booked to Shipped, Sales workbook, Shop in Shop Analysis) distributed within schedule identified: R-does not get done, Y-Post-deadline, G-On time, SG-Early.
  • Financial Statement Accuracy: R-material findings identified in year-end financial statements, Y-material findings identified in intra-year financial statements, G-appropriate adjustments identified during the Close process, SG-no material adjustments identified during the Close process.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting field
  • CPA with supervisory experience strongly preferred

AP Specialist - $500 Signing Bonus

As the AP Specialist, you will report to our Accounting Manager, and work with a variety of teams within in the organization to ensure invoice receipt, approval, and payment processing is running smoothly. Leading candidates will have great organization skills, prior AP experience, and be computer/software savvy.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Ensure timely, efficient, and accurate processing of invoices and related Check/ACH/Wire payments in accordance with internal processes.
  • Ensure invoice records are organized and have all necessary approvals.
  • Ensure vendor information is accurate and maintain effective and clear communication with vendors and internal department heads.
  • Research Vendor statement errors and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Manage the expense reporting software and ensure company credit card usage is in line with policy.
  • Maintain W9’s and ensure accurate and timely filing of 1099’s.
  • Assist with month end close, and interim and year end audits.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives and other ad hoc projects.
  • Participate in company-wide, conservation, sustainability, and JEDI initiatives.

Community and Pro Team Specialist

The Community and Pro Team Specialist, within the Product Marketing Team, is responsible for the management, activation and execution of community events, pro team relations, cause relationships and social activations within the Simms Pro team family.

The Community and Pro Team Specialist will work closely with the Director of Product Marketing and Community, Fly Category Manager and Product Marketing Coordinator as the conduit to our in-field pros, ambassadors, events and photoshoots. This role will work together with the Simms Marketing Team, Quality Control Team, Customer Service and external partners to deliver timely and effective fulfillment of event activations, annual angler contracts, cause activations and be the primary contact for our Elite level anglers while ensuring these deliverables are on brand, on time and on budget.

In addition, this role will work as the liaison between the E-comm Pro Channel manger and represent the brand at in-filed activations as appropriate. As well as working in conjunction with the Product Marketing Coordinator to assist in various outputs as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Primary Contact for Pro and Ambassador program
  • Create and distribute contracts to Pro and Ambassador team members annually
  • Manage and Implement backend credit and Account Management
  • Responsible for managing monthly budgeted gear allocation
  • Create compelling social activations with our pros working with the Social Media Specialist
  • Fulfill event activations on time and on budget
  • Create and Manage Monthly Pro team correspondence
  • Liaison with the Quality Control team to ensure appropriate product feedback is being fostered
  • Manage and approve Pro accounts and Sponsorship requests
  • Work together with E-comm Pro Channel Manager to drive revenue
  • Represent Simms as the primary conduit to our Cause Partners
  • Assist and participate in both in-studio and in-field photoshoots
  • Maximize internal efficiencies with Product Marketing Coordinator
  • Participate in company-wide, conservation, sustainability, and JEDI initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • College Degree in Marketing and/or
  • 2-3 years of Customer Service Experience in the fishing/outdoor industry

  • Knowledge of Nav, Image Relay and Elastic a plus
  • Competent in both, fly-fishing and conventional fishing
  • Potential travel of 30+ Days

Finance/Accounting Generalist - $500 Signing Bonus

A Finance/Accounting Generalist at Simms will perform a variety of scheduled and ad hoc tasks, including assistance with Accounts Receivable, Account Reconciliations, and supporting the Sales Team with Consumer and National Accounts activity. This role provides a great opportunity to learn the financial and system operations of a growing company that can serve as a launch board to other roles in the finance/accounting department or elsewhere in the Organization.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Correctly record, apply, and reconcile cash deposits and customer payments.
  • Serve as the bridge between Finance/Accounting and the Sales team, as it relates to troubleshooting problems with direct to consumer, national accounts, and international customers.
  • Own and reconcile transactions related to key distribution channels such as Amazon.
  • Maintains an understanding of contracts and processes with key customers.
  • Assist in tasks associated with month end close of the financial statements.
  • Support ad hoc requests from the Accounting Manager
