We are looking to fill several Production Specialists roles. We have several roles and will train the right candidates to be members of our Wader Maker Team. An eye for detail, focus on excellence and a positive team member are the characteristics we’re looking for.

The mission of the Wader Production Team is to produce high quality waders. Roles may learn the production processes in the Pressing, Sewing/Taping, Attachment/Boot Building and/or Testing and Packaging area.

We offer a few shifts to choose from:

  • Saturday between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm

 

How we reward our team:

  • Our Wader Maker Team earns a competitive base wage, between $16.00 - $19.50 per hour
  • During the first 90 days, we add $1.50/hour as a training bonus
  • After 90 days, wader makers are placed in the Production Bonus pool. Bonuses are paid out monthly based on achieving weekly wader goals. This generally adds and additional $2.25 - $3.00 per hour to the base wage

Supply Planning Manager

 

The supply planning manager oversees and executes all aspects of planning within Simms’ global supply chain for sourced products.  This role does not participate directly in planning activities for Simms’ Bozeman production operations.  Key activities within the scope of this role include:

  • Oversight of planning activity scheduling tool
  • Factory long range capacity planning
  • Greige planning and ongoing greige position management
  • PO reviews, and oversight of execution into supply chain
  • PO-by-PO MOQ reviews for vendors
  • Evaluation and execution of ad-hoc, as-needed PO revisions (typically driven by raw material constraints)
  • Mastery of current tools and processes, and persistent effort to identify and implement improvements.

 

The overarching objective of this role is to maintain the optimal balance of inventory turns and product availability, while minimizing excess raw material and discontinued product volumes. Key metrics used to measure effectiveness in this role include:

  • Inventory turns
  • Top 25 style dollar weighted availability
  • Overall availability
  • DTC availability
  • Discontinued inventory as a % of revenue
  • Obsolete fabric exposure

 

This is a dynamic cross-functional role, requiring effective partnership across the business. Key stakeholders include:

  • Demand planning – understanding and integrating the demand forecast that informs supply planning)
  • Materials team – gathering the fabric item and supply chain details necessary for effective greige planning
  • Sales – defining the relative planning prioritization within the Simms product collection
  • Sourcing – building and implementing a supply plan that is informed by the specific planning requirements and preferences of our manufacturing partners

Production Planner

 

The Production Planner executes planning, operational processes and decisions pertaining to the Bozeman production of waders and other products. They partner closely with the operations team to formulate a supply plan that maximizes both availability and inventory turns, while conforming to the constraints of production capacity. The planner provides effective support throughout the wader development and commercialization process, including the creation of part numbers, and the creation and maintenance of wader B.O.M.’s. Through immersion in the foundational operational infrastructure of the company, he/she executes these goals with strong attention to detail, sound operational and mathematical acumen, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

    • Develops Near term and long term production plan that maximizes availability, inventory turns, and manufacturing productivity
    • Creates Accurate B.O.M.’s, enabling reliable visibility into projected raw material inventory positions, and minimizing cycle count adjustments
    • Facilitates weekly production planning review and key inventory reviews with senior operation associates.
    • Participates in the creation, definition, and maintenance of key operational information and tools including:
      • Vendor specific inventory planning “Roll Forward” tools.
      • Product detail creation and updating including SKUs, and associated planning related parameters (lead time, minimum order quantity, size curve %, etc.).
    • Effectively partners with production management and product development, supporting on-time commercialization, and the effective implementation of production and raw material planning decisions
    • Consistently adheres to key timelines and milestones in Simms’ inventory planning, purchasing, and operational data infrastructure.
    • Effectively communicates accurate information across all Simms’ stakeholders and infrastructure, including Microsoft Navision.

Director of Wholesale, North America

 

Simms Fishing is a leader in the fishing industry, and we are looking for a dynamic Director of Wholesale, North America to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through engagement with specialty retail, national accounts, the sales management team, and independent sales representatives. You will be responsible for maximizing the revenue performance by leading the team to achieve annual sales plans across all North America wholesale accounts. These customers include specialty retail in fly, conventional, lodge and outdoor accounts, national accounts, liquidators, and corporate accounts.

 

 

As a leader within the sales team, you will lead the account management and sales strategy for existing and new accounts, making strategic choices that are consistent with the Simms brand and long-range distribution plan objectives. In addition, you will provide input on the development of Simms’ distribution strategy and be responsible for execution of the distribution plan at retail, including expansion into new sales channels. The director will ensure effective sell-in for both existing and new products.

 

 

As a Director of Wholesale, North America you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be a purposeful sales driver that will provide strong leadership to the sales team and wholesale accounts.
  • Represent customer POV internally at Simms but will be tireless advocate for Simms externally.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the marketplace, and the competitive field in which Simms competes.
  • Evaluate geographic regions, determine greatest opportunities for growth, and implement strategies to achieve.
  • Engage sales management team, sales representatives, and retailers.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor a world-class sales team to support the brand’s seasonal and long-range business objectives.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to ensure the highest levels of account service in the industry.
  • Execute sales meetings based on strategy developed in junction with CRO, CPO and CMO.
  • Create agenda and sell-in story /presentations.
  • Manage and motivate sales force to achieve annual revenue targets.
  • Create annual sales plans by channel, and update forecast regularly. Analyze performance vs. plan, and coordinate with regions and sales reps to achieve results.
  • Ensure Simms product and marketing team that is informed of North American retail trends in sportfishing business and broader outdoor landscape.
    • Product feedback is shared in a timely manner.
    • Support Simms at key retail and/or consumer events.
    • Identify sales growth opportunities and challenges, and lead the sell-in cycle, generally twice annually and address as appropriate.
  • Establish closeout strategies that maximize revenue and margin while reducing cannibalization of in-line business.
  • Identify needs for sales programs and materials, including workbook and trade show booth; merchandising/POS; clinic training materials and specials.
  • Evaluate ROI on sales programs, promotions, and other initiatives while managing the specialty channel gross margin.
  • Serve as a “voice of Simms” at all key accounts. Participate in all line previews and seasonal product reviews. Work with Sales Manager, Key Accounts to develop annual sales plan and appropriate levels of reserve orders to support the plan.
  • Negotiate terms of sale, supported by CRO and CFO.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Leadership skills required to manage independent rep force and lead direct reports (Sales Manager, Specialty and Sales Manager, Key Accounts) and work effectively with Simms peers (Sr. Director of Sales Ops, planning, product, and finance teams).
  • 5+ years of experience as an account manager, preferably for an outdoor apparel or fishing brand.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze account specific needs to develop and implement a strategic plan and to grow business.
  • Strategic selling skills with a command of value-added sales techniques.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
  • A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and negotiating skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Must be highly motivated and results oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with ability to easily adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes.
  • Strong PC skills/aptitude. Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Part-Time Warehouse Associate

 (20 -30 hours per week)

 

 

The Warehouse Associate works as part of the warehouse team to accurately and efficiently perform functions related to the following areas: Assist with processing returns, supports shipping team with daily shipping responsibilities, stocks and ships sale sample receipts and orders, and manages internal inventory of samples and marketing POP. When necessary, the Warehouse Associate will assist the warehouse team to accurately and efficiently perform functions related to the following areas: receiving, wader transfers orders, cycle counts, warehousing, stock replenishment and will assist to develop, promote, and support continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Lead for processing customer returns
  • Supports day to day shipping responsibilities to deliver products to the customer on time and in a quality manner
  • Supports receiving daily deliveries and proper stocking
  • Measures and records all dimensions and weights for all SMS

Associate Product Line Manager

 

 

The Associate Product Line Manager is both a business analyst and line coordination role. The role champions the efficient and timely day-day operation of the line to meet corporate cadence. The APLM will manage the successful translation of 2D design into 3D samples on assigned collections that meet or exceed brief, design intent, costing targets, and adhere to established standards for branding, design, craftsmanship, lab/field testing, quality, and durability.

 


For these categories and projects assigned, the APLM aids in market research, business analytics, line management, go-to-market, SMU management, and utilizing data-driven and consumer-driven business tools to inform decision-making. To be effective in this role, the APLM will partner with Sr. Management, Product Team, Marketing, Sales, and Operations on all long-range and seasonal line planning initiatives and reflect those in the internal line planning tools and data management systems. Further, the APLM will be part of the Product Team to successfully execute product creation to the product development calendar, materials management goals, and milestone review meetings.

 


The APLM brings a passion for the product creation process, a positive team player attitude, and enthusiasm for the consumer to add value to new products from Simms.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Seasonal proto and commercialization phases hit or exceed established milestone dates while adhering to budget constraints, workflow requirements, design intent, lab and field testing standards and costing targets.
    • Assist in building and maintaining visual tools required to effectively communicate long-range and seasonal line planning decisions for the product lines and meet calendar dates.
    • Create and maintain the assigned line plans: product initiatives, product forecasts, sku analysis, volume analysis and sample management; produce market share analysis, catalog management and price list documentation.
    • Research and extract actionable business statistics such as sales history, seasonal product mix, channel mix, market segment mix, seasonal price points, SKU performance, competitive landscape and provide and present in a compelling way to inform the planning, briefing, and decision-making.
    • Work with Sales, Development, and Sourcing Teams to successfully manage the global SMU process for hard goods to meet goals and dates established by the Senior Management Team.
    • Key point of contact for all product-related inquiries from Repair/Warranty, Customer Service and Operational teams. Collects and presents feedback to the team to inform decision-making and build positive engagement across the organization.
    • Present, as needed, prototypes to Sales, Marketing, and internal staff to help the PLMs and Vice President of Merchandising and Design communicate seasonal direction to key stakeholders.
    • Assist the PLM in the successful go-to-market (GTM) process and serve as key point of contact to execute established launch goals across all departments: selling tools, packaging accuracy, pricers, SMS, product documentation, DTC support, sales conferences, trade shows, pre-lines, etc.
  • Participant in marketplace analysis, focusing on the brand’s competition including market shopping to evaluate emerging opportunities.
  • Establish strong relationships and open lines of communication with the Sales and Marketing teams to maintain on-going communications regarding market dynamics.

 

 


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Design, Marketing or Retail Merchandising.
  • 1-3 years of experience in buying, merchandising and/or product line management.
  • Strong computer skills, must be efficient in excel programs and familiar with Adobe Creative Suites
